  • 4 1/2 tablespoons unsalted butter
  • 2 tablespoons minced garlic
  • 3 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 tablespoon granulated sugar
  • 2 1/4 teaspoons instant yeast
  • 1 teaspoon fine sea salt
  • 1 cup whole or 2% milk (warmed)
  • 1 large egg (room temperature)

Instructions

  1. Prepare a 9×13 pan by lightly buttering the bottom and sides.
  2. Melt butter and minced garlic in a small pot for about 1-2 minutes until fragrant.
  3. In a mixing bowl, combine flour, parsley, sugar, yeast, and salt.
  4. Add warmed milk, egg, and cooled garlic butter to the dry ingredients; knead until smooth (10-12 minutes).
  5. Cut dough into 12 portions; shape into balls and place in the pan. Let rise until doubled (1-2 hours).
  6. Preheat oven to 350°F (180°C). Brush rolls with beaten egg wash.
  7. Bake for 20-30 minutes until golden brown.
  8. Brush baked rolls with melted garlic butter; sprinkle with flaky sea salt if desired.
