  • 1 1/2 cups (135g) Rolled Oats
  • 1/2 cup (60g) All-Purpose Flour
  • 1/4 cup (50g) Brown Sugar (base)
  • 1/4 cup (57g) Melted Butter (base) or plant-based alternative
  • 1/4 tsp (1.5g) Salt
  • 1/4 cup (50g) Brown Sugar (filling)
  • 1/4 cup (57g) Softened Butter (filling) or plant-based alternative
  • 1 tbsp (8g) Ground Cinnamon
  • 1/2 cup (60g) Powdered Sugar
  • 12 tbsp (15-30ml) Milk or plant-based milk
  • 1/4 tsp (1.25ml) Vanilla Extract

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and line an 8×8 inch pan with parchment paper.
  2. In a bowl, mix rolled oats, flour, 1/4 cup brown sugar, melted butter, and salt until combined.
  3. Press the mixture into the bottom of the prepared pan evenly.
  4. In another bowl, cream together softened butter, 1/4 cup brown sugar, and cinnamon until fluffy.
  5. Spread the filling over the oat base; swirl for added flair if desired.
  6. Bake for 20-25 minutes until golden brown and set.
  7. For the glaze, whisk powdered sugar with milk and vanilla until smooth; drizzle over cooled bars before cutting into squares.
