  • 1/3 cup brown sugar

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C). Grease a muffin tin or line with paper liners.
  2. In a large bowl, whisk together flour, sugar, baking powder, and salt.
  3. In another bowl, combine milk, oil, egg, and vanilla until well mixed.
  4. Pour wet ingredients into dry ingredients and stir gently until just combined; fold in cherries.
  5. For the topping, mix flour, brown sugar, and cinnamon. Cut in cold butter until crumbly.
  6. Fill muffin cups about two-thirds full with batter; sprinkle topping evenly over each.
  7. Bake for 20–25 minutes until golden brown; a toothpick should come out clean.
  8. Cool in the pan for 5 minutes before transferring to a wire rack.
