  • ½ tablespoon vanilla extract

  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • ¼ cup all-purpose flour
  • ½ cup Heath toffee bits with chocolate
  • Flaked sea salt for topping

Instructions

  1. Brown the butter in a saucepan over medium heat until golden and nutty. Stir in espresso powder and refrigerate until firm (1-2 hours).
  2. Beat chilled brown butter with sugars until light and fluffy (3-4 minutes).
  3. Mix in egg and vanilla until smooth.
  4. Combine dry ingredients separately, then add them to the wet mixture until just combined.
  5. Fold in toffee bits gently.
  6. Chill dough balls on a tray for at least an hour.
  7. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Bake dough balls on parchment-lined sheets for about 11-13 minutes until golden.
  8. Cool slightly before transferring to a wire rack.
